Média věnují rostoucí pozornost spotřebitelským tématům, na trhu přibyla řada specializovaných webů zakládaných výrobci, vládními organizacemi i nezávislými iniciativami. Úspěch nových médií často závisí na jejich čtenosti, sledovanosti či návštěvnosti a ty zase na schopnosti média nabídnout informaci, která bude zároveň zajímavá, ale i odborně přesná.
